Legalizing Marijuana in America would be a step in the right direction for America. Not only does Marijuana aid in relieving many ailments, the legalization of it would boost the economy, which is something that America needs right now.

Marijuana is not as harmful as the media portrays it as being. There are numerous benefits that come from Marijuana and the Cannabis plant. Find out the facts before judging something that you are ignorant about.

Marijuana is proven to help relieve symptoms associated with Glaucoma, Irritable Bowel Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, A.I.D.S., Cancer, nausea, depression and Epilepsy just to name a few. Why would so many states consider legalizing Medicinal use of Marijuana if it was not helpful?

Is alcohol helpful? No, not at all. Alcohol has no benefits whatsoever, but yet it is legal? Does that even make any logical sense?

Those who suffer from painful diseases have the choice of using narcotic pain medication, however a lot of them have very bad side effects and can become addictive very easily. If you had the choice of using addictive chemicals that may not even work, or using a natural plant that grows in the ground that has no serious side effects, which would you choose? If any of you are ever put in that situation, you may think differently.

Apart from the medicinal benefits of Marijuana, there would be many other benefits to legalizing the plant.

Hemp is very valuable because it can be used as a bio-fuel instead of depending on oil. It also reduces carbon emissions.

The legalization of Marijuana would put a lot of money back into our country. Right now, millions of dollars are sent overseas to bring the weed illegally into the country. Why don't we just keep all of that money here? 

This country arrests 750,000 people a year on Marijuana charges. Just think of all the money we could save keeping our courts less busy, our jails less crowded, and letting the law focus on the real criminals. 

If Marijuana was legalized, it could be taxed which would give millions of dollars to the government and they could stop complaining about being in debt. It would also bring in more jobs and a brighter future for the country.

Marijuana is legal in Amsterdam and it has proven successful. They have a booming economy and the many marijuana coffee shops are part of this growing economy. They also have one of the lowest violent crime rates in the world. Coincidence?

If Marijuana was legalized, I think we would all see a positive change in this great country of ours. There are a lot of people fighting for the legalization and maybe one day the government will open their eyes to see the logical answer.
