Pit Bulls: The Truth About The Breed
71Pit Bulls are a very misunderstood breed of dogs. Someone who is not educated on the breed most likely considers them to be mean and vicious dogs. The truth is, Pit Bulls are not vicious at all, in fact, they are one of the most intelligent breeds of dogs around.
Pit Bulls are not naturally vicious dogs. They are typically only vicious if they have been abused by a human. Any dog can become aggressive if they are handled aggressively and have suffered abuse. The only difference with Pit Bulls is that they are strong enough that they can cause damage to a human being, unlike smaller dogs.
Breed Specific Laws (BSL) are becoming popular across the United States. Many cities and/or states are banning various breeds of dogs because they are considered to be "vicious". What are they basing this on? Ignorance. We shouldn't ban, or kill a dog just because of the breed he is. It's the same thing as human racism, except an animal can't speak up, or fight for his rights.
Before judging Pit Bulls, educate yourself and learn the truth behind their breed. They are not monsters, they just want to be loved and they will love you unconditionally.
The Facts

- Pit Bulls have an uncanny ability to sense when their family is in danger, and have saved many human lives because of this.
- There is a big difference between animal aggression and human aggression. Just because a dog may not like other dogs does not mean that they will be aggressive with humans. They do know the difference!

Always great to find another pit lover! The black pit in the green blanket reminds e of my baby Koopa, except Koopa has a white blaze down his face.
I'm all for people who like the breed, but watch out because you can't portray the breed as being angels. They are not for everyone and can cause a good bit of damage. If you're going to write about them, do so from an unbiased perspective. You can't say they're are a perfect breed because there are so many people who do not have enough experience to be able to handle them properly.
